Be A Can-Do Person
Isn’t it so refreshing to be around people who have a “can do” attitude? It’s a quality we all should think about and endeavor to grow in.
It’s very tiring, very wearing and discouraging to be surrounded by “I can’ts.” The I can’ts of the Israelites ultimately brought about their death in the wilderness. When God says we can and we say we can’t, we are completely left to what we can produce in our own strength and ability, not to mention we are calling God a liar. Look at the contrast of this famous account of God doing His best to take His people into a place of provision and blessing and the response of His people.
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” Numbers 13:30-31.
Notice in this passage that it matters who you are with! The old saying, “You can't hang out with chickens and expect to soar with eagles" certainly applies here. You will become like the people you associate with.
Our core relationships must be with those of like minded faith. We endeavor to always remember that our attitude, our demeanor and ultimately, what is an expression of our faith and confidence in God, not only affects us, but also those around us. Our cans and our can’ts will actually determine our destiny and our family’s destinies.
As God's children, we are a household of faith and we cultivate the culture of, YES WE CAN AND YES WE WILL.
