Partaking of Everything That is Ours in Christ

As one minister stated, “People think they have faith problems when they have identity problems. If they knew who they are in Christ, they wouldn’t have faith issues.”
The key to walking in victory every day in this natural arena is to know who you are in the spiritual arena – you are IN CHRIST! We must learn all that belongs to us because we belong to Christ and because we are one with Him.

When we know who we are in Christ and what belongs to us because we are in Him, that’s the end of struggle, and faith issues become a thing of the past. We come into the highest order of faith when we know who we are in Christ and conduct our daily life in line with that.

Let’s look at how Colossians 2:9 & 10 read in The Living Bible translation. “For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power.”

Look at these wonderful words of truth! “…You have EVERYTHING when you have Christ…YOU ARE FILLED WITH GOD through your union with Christ….” When these truths dawn on our spirit, we will live differently and bear the fruit of these truths!

All God planned for us, He put in Christ. All God wanted us to have, He put in Christ – then put Christ in us and put us in Christ! Wonderful truths!

We have everything when we have Christ. Everything we will ever need to fulfill the plan of God is already fully stocked and supplied in Christ – and we are in Christ! We will never face a need that isn’t already met and fully supplied for in Christ. How that is to change the way we think, believe, speak, pray, and act! We aren’t trying to get anything! Christ is the treasury that holds all we will ever need. In Him, we have it all!

In the prayer life of the Old Testament saints, they were asking God to do something for them, but the emphasis of the New Testament is that all we will ever need has already been given to us in Christ. All we need to do is receive it and partake of what He has already made ours. Because this is true, we must discover through His Word all that God has made ours in Christ so that we enjoy what He has made ours.

In Christ, we already possess all things, but just because we possess it doesn’t mean we are partaking of it. Just like we can possess much food in our kitchen but not be partaking of it, it’s possible to not be partaking of all we already possess in Christ.

How do we PARTAKE of what we possess?  Philemon 1:6 tells us how. “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Our faith goes into effect when we acknowledge all that God stored up for us in Christ. We partake of what is ours in Christ when we acknowledge it and speak of it as a present possession – not a future possession, but a present possession!

In Christ, we are already healed. Outside of Christ is pain, symptoms, and disease. So, speak of what’s already yours in Christ. Don’t speak of pain, sickness, and disease, for then we speak of what is outside Christ.

We are not to speak of what is outside of Christ, for we are IN Christ! Faith speaks of what has already been provided for us IN Christ. In Christ, we are already provided for. Outside of Christ is lack, but in Christ is abundance. Don’t speak of lack, but speak of the abundance that’s yours in Christ. This is the language of faith – speaking as one in Christ.

The devil wants us to be occupied with and speak of that which is outside of Christ and that which is of this natural realm. Outside of Him is fear, doubt, worry, lack, sickness, confusion, sorrow, depression, and all troubling things. But none of these things belong to the one in Christ. We are to confess and hold our attention on what we have and who we are IN HIM. In Him is healing, provision, wisdom, peace, joy, faith, victory, and all good things.
We refuse to leave our place in Christ to go to the lower flow of this natural world, for in Christ everything good is ours, and we choose to live as rich as we are! - (Excerpt from Nancy Dufresne monthly publication)
